Store your files

Keep your photos and files with your site

See what you can store, how much each plan includes, and what happens at the limit. Your site stays online.

Who this helps
Owners and editors of websites built with Launch.
Before starting
Open Usage in your dashboard. It shows how much storage you use and your limit.
Done when
You know what counts toward storage, and how to add room or free it up.

01

What you can store

Add photos and PDFs to your site. Webrenew makes each photo ready for the web, so your pages stay fast.

Photos: upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP. Webrenew resizes each photo and converts it to WebP. A stored photo is 2 MB or less. The editor makes large photos smaller before it sends them.

PDFs: menus, price lists, and forms, up to 25 MB each.

Video: you cannot upload video. Put the video on YouTube or Vimeo. Then add it to a page with the Embed block.

Video files are large and slow to load. YouTube and Vimeo send each visitor the right size for their screen and connection.

02

What counts toward storage

Storage is the total size of every file on all your sites. One allowance covers all of them.

  1. Every photo and PDF on each of your sites counts.
  2. Webrenew keeps smaller copies of each photo, so phones and tablets load your pages fast. The copies count too. Your usage grows by a little more than the size of the photo that you upload.
  3. Files on sites in Archive count too, until Webrenew erases the site after 30 days.
  4. Files that editors upload count toward the owner's storage, not the editor's.

03

How much each plan includes

Free: 1 GB, about 5,000 photos.

Site: 50 GB.

Pro: 250 GB.

Bandwidth is unlimited on every plan, under fair use.

04

Add more storage

Need more room? Add storage to the Site and Pro plans. You keep your plan.

Choose 100 GB for $10 a month or 500 GB for $30 a month. Add as many blocks as you need. Add-ons bill each month, also on a yearly plan.

  1. Open Usage in your dashboard. The plan card shows how much storage you use.
  2. Use Add storage on the plan card. Choose how many blocks of each size you want.
  3. Confirm the change. Webrenew bills it at once, for the part of the month that is left. Your new limit applies at once.
  4. To remove add-ons, set both sizes to zero. They stop at the end of the billing period.

Add-ons are for paid plans only. On Free, choose a paid plan first. When a plan ends, its add-on runs to the end of the period you paid for, then stops. You can choose a limit below what you use now: Webrenew keeps your files, and uploads stay paused until you are under the limit.

05

What happens at the limit

Your site stays online. Webrenew never deletes your files. Webrenew never adds a charge that you did not choose.

New uploads stop until you add storage, move up a plan, or free up space. Your site continues to show every file that it shows now.

06

If you move to a smaller plan

Webrenew keeps all your files. Your site continues to show all of them.

If you use more than the new plan includes, uploads stop until you are under the limit. Free up space or add storage to upload again.

07

Bandwidth and fair use

Bandwidth is unlimited. A busy season or a popular post does not add to your bill.

Fair use keeps this promise possible for every owner.

If a site serves far more traffic than its plan usually serves for two months in a row, Webrenew contacts you to agree on a plan that fits. Nothing on your bill changes unless you choose it.

08

Free up space

Remove files that your sites do not use. Webrenew protects the files that your pages still show.

  1. Find the files that your sites no longer use.
  2. Delete them. If a page or post still uses a file, Webrenew keeps the file and tells you which pages use it.
  3. Remove the file from those pages, or replace it. Then delete it again.
  4. To free the space of a site in Archive, select Delete forever. Webrenew erases its files at once.

With the Storage API, force=true deletes a file that a page still uses. That page then shows no image.
